What is Pass Plus

Pass plus is a voluntary scheme that helps to develop your existing driving skills, and can get you discounted motor insurance. (Check for available discounts with participating insurance companies - a list can be found on the the Pass Plus website), or phone 0115 901 2633. If you are a new driver and feel nervous driving on your own, then Pass Plus can help to boost your confidence

Who can take Pass Plus

You can take Pass Plus at any time in your driving career, but it is mainly aimed at new drivers in the first year after passing your driving test.

What is the structure of Pass Plus

There are six modules -
  • Introduction and Town Driving
  • All - Weather Driving
  • Out of Town Driving and Rural Roads
  • Night Driving
  • Dual Carriageways
  • Motorways

Is there a test at the end

No, this course is aimed at building on your existing skills and experience. After successfully completing the whole syllabus to an achieved or exceeded level of driving competence, your driving instructor will sign and date your Training Report Form and send it to the DSA for your Pass Plus Certificate of Completion.

Refresher courses...

  • Has it been some time since you passed your driving test.
  • Do you feel very nervous when out driving, especially with the volume of traffic on the roads nowadays.
  • Not feeling confident when driving.
  • Feel unsure which lane to approach islands in, how to maintain your position, and how to signal at islands. Especially the five exit ones.
  • Not sure what some of the traffic signs means, especially the newer ones.
  • Forgotten the Highway Code.
  • Do you find it difficult to concentrate whilst driving.
  • Do you just want to improve and develop your existing skills.
